On my small kiln I think it fired with about 30 gallons, however I never measured the fuel consumption, I have just layed the last brick on a new 50 cu ft salt kiln, I have estimated the kiln will need 1 million btu per hour to fire and has 2 burners, veg oil has a btu of 132,000 per gallon so I need to burn about 4 gallons per hour per burner. I hope to fire my new kiln over the next 10 days and if successfull I will let you know the total fuel used.
