You'll have to add borax to the soda ash or bicarb of soda to get it to properly melt at cone 6. You'll find that a lot of the cone 10 flashing slips will work at cone 6.

Kiln firing

Got the soda kiln loaded yesterday, candled overnight and firing today. I put three pictures of the back, middle and front stacks on my blog at: http://www.shambhalapottery.blogspot.com

I made a lot of changes in the chimney (removed two layers), bag wall (raised and it altered the openings) and flues (reduced them to about 47sq in), so it may be an interesting firing. So far this morning, the temperature, top to bottom in this cross draft are dead even.
