Thanks. Funny that it's the only true soda pieces that I posted that drew comments here at salt-and-soda-firing. These are actually done in my gas reduction kiln, and much more soda-ful - with that crazy orange blush and the carbon trap, than the ...

Yep. The vault is from having too many raku kilns in the shop. I cut it in half and made a train from some bricks laying around the shop. A potter built my house and another potter sold it to me. So, naturally there were a few fire bricks laying around and needing a job to do. I really like your surfaces on your pots, especially your mugs and the lidded box.

Dan,

You're most welcome to join me for one of my wood-firings here in the Eastern Panhandle of WV. My next one will be 8-9 May. I'll be loading on the Wednesday and Thursday prior to starting the hearth fires on Friday morning. I anticipate wrapping things up on Saturday evening about 6-8 PM. I'll be firing again the last weekend in October. I hope you still have that guitar! I'd love to make a trip up to Great Barrington and help fire your train kiln some time, but won't be able to get up there this summer. Please stay in touch - Crawford

Dan,

Greetings, I met you at a wood-fired workshop that Jim Dugan conducted at Touchstone many years ago. In addition to your porcelain cups, I rememeber you serenaded the group with your guitar when you weren't stoking the kiln. I checked out your website - your stuff is beautiful - especially the snakeskin effect that will remain a secret!

Take care, Crawford
